What is your movement plan for the day? Recharging your phone and walking to the kitchen for a snack do not count!🙂

Exercise can seem like a dirty word sometimes. Which is why we like to talk about movement, instead.
It's kind of like talking about nutrients to add in to our diets, rather than focussing on what we need to eliminate. It isn't about dieting and suffering-rather it is about getting enough nutrients in our day.
The same goes with moving our bodies. It isn't about becoming a gym rat, or even having to force yourself to become a runner. Because forcing yourself to do those things may work for some, but for a lot of us, it just isn't sustainable.
So, instead, we like to think in terms of movement.
Our bodies need to move, each day. And, yes, high intensity interval training is awesome!! And super important. But, so are gentle stretches, walking, functional movements, gardening, etc. The trick is twofold: making sure that we are deciding to move every day, and making sure that we include bits of everything. Which means that, at some time in our movements, we optimally will be doing some weight bearing exercises, and some cardio. Some mobility work, and some balance training. Ideally, we will have a glorious mix of all of these things throughout our week, adding up to 1/2 hour every day.
And that is very very doable, especially with a little forethought. And flexibility of thought!
It is important to work within our own limitations. And to keep things fairly fun and happy (that way we will continue!). Sustainability really is key. It may seem like a lot to juggle in the beginning, but we will keep showing different ways to think about it all, and different things to try.
The most important thing, as always, is mindset. We have to first want to move, for our health. And then we work on the best way to do that.
So, first, we make a plan. What is your movement plan for today?
You've got this!! And we've got your back!
